My first Marni Mann read and I am left speechless and wanting more. I still don’t know what to feel after finishing Prisoned. This is a dark read, but it’s filled with suspense that will leave you on the edge of your seat, it will grip you, by the neck and hold on until you’ve read the last word. And even then, you’re still reeling from what you’ve been through.
Garin and Kyle have known each other since they were young, growing up in the slums of The Heart. As we venture to the past with Garin, his memories serve as a look into what happened between him and Kyle, she was his best friend, his first love.
Kyle is forced to go back ‘home’, a place she fled and never wanted to go back to, but when circumstances push her back into the path of Garin, it’s as if she’d never left. They’ve both grown, they’re both changed, but the feelings and emotion is still there. Or is it?
There are so many twists in this story that will leave your mind working over time to figure out what you just read, or who did what, and when.
I would recommend this roller coaster to those who can handle dark reads, because it’s dark and dirty in the cell….
