I finished this in the early hours of this morning and even though it’s had some time to settle in my mind and in my heart, I’m still at a loss for words. I can’t fully explain the journey this book took me on. I felt a kinship to Maverick from the get go and I was dragged on this journey with her. I felt every emotion that she did.
The angst, agony, pain, love, confusion, guilt, pleasure, every single thing took me on a roller coaster ride I wasn’t sure I was ready for, but I loved every moment. I went into this book thinking I knew what it was about. Sure, it’s a love triangle. Yes, there are two brother’s involved. No, there’s no cheating. BUT nothing can prepare you for this story. No, you have no idea. This isn’t just a love triangle, it’s so much more. The emotion you’re swept up in is excruciating at times, but you’ll love every moment and you’ll just keep reading.
In all love triangles, there has to be a choice, and that’s no different for this one. This ending actually hurt me more than I thought it would. I guess we’ll all have our favorite brother, however in saying that, I love the strength that Maverick had, to make a choice, because as it came down to it, I don’t think I could have done what she did.
Yes, I’m being cryptic in my review because blind is the only way to dive into this incredible journey. This is one book that will linger in my heart and mind for months, possibly years to come. Kelly did an incredible job, this story is well written, the characters really seeped into my heart, leaving me bare and pained when the story ended.
KL Kreig takes you on this gut wrenching journey of three people who not only care for each other, they love down to their very marrow. Maverick, Kael, and Killian will forever be one of my top reads.
