I received a copy of Sylvie from K Langston in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
I’m a massive of fan of K Langston and have loved all her previous releases prior to this one. I remember K posting the idea of this story which seems like a very long time ago so when K posted the sign up for this book I knew I had to sign up and boy am I pleased I did.
Firstly I have to say it has took me three days to write this review as this book owned my body, heart and soul and I wanted to write a review that done this wonderfully written book justice. I still don’t have the right words but I’m going to try and describe how this book made me feel.
This isn’t a book you can read and then jump into another one straight afterwards its been three days and I still can’t read another book. I feel like I’m carrying this story with me still or I hear a powerful song and it will remind of the characters. Sylvie is still in my heart I swear I love this woman. She is hands down a strong, independent, fierce willed woman I have so much respect for her. She has been through a lot and the way she handled herself with grace and determination inspired me to be a lot like her. Then there’s Linc wow where do I start with him? He is simply my favourite alpha male K Langston has written I just love him inside and out. If all men were half like Linc they would be perfect he is just simply breath-taking.
Then there is the emotion I felt the characters go through and how I literally felt I was going through it with them. I cried ALOT with this story but I also felt safe, love and above all hope all the way through this wonderful story. With every tear I shed I also felt light as I knew there would be a HEA. This story proved to me that sometimes love isn’t always enough but is what we want or maybe even need. It also highlighted the friendship is key and that “friends forever” is so true. God this story means absolutely everything to me. K wrote about very touching and emotive subjects but wrote these scenes respectfully, delicately an sensitively. The poems and songs in this story were simply breath-taking and were inspiring. K you’re one very talented woman.
One of my favourite quotes or verses from this books was this……. “The moon hangs low, Taunting the earth with its gravity and light, Finding comfort in the rise and fall of the tide. But when the sun rises again, stealing the night, A new day will dawn. Bringing with it a promise of hope That the moon shall return But only after the sun has had its moment to shine.”
This story is full of heartache, pain, despair, grief, longing, strength, hope and love. I simply loved it and didn’t want it to end. Please one click this beautiful story as you won’t be disappointed at all.
